Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day
came out a couple of months ago, so I’ve been able to put some of the info in the book into practice, although I have to admit I’ve been a bit lazy about it. No matter how good the book is, you still have to put in the work, apparently. Aw, shucks.
I found out about it because I’d been a fan of Mari Smith on Facebook for quite some time, now. Her mastery of the social media marketing game is very impressive.
That’s why when she announced she was co-authoring the book with Chris Treadaway I immediately pre-ordered it.
I figured I get so many great tips from her Facebook page for free there must be some really good stuff in this book they’re selling.
Well, bottom line, there is. However, there’s a lot of info in here that’s way over the head of a one-man, “casual” Facebook marketer such as myself.
These two are real pros, and as such they provide a lot of info that is tailored to pros and businesses that have whole marketing teams at their disposal. People like me may not be the target audience for some of this book.
It didn’t hurt me to read through it all, though. Although there are some techniques I don’t think I would/could try for myself, you can kind of keep these things in the back of your head in case you have an opportunity to try them out.
I learned quite a bit about how Facebook works and read about a bunch of techniques that I immediately thought “man I gotta try this”. Of course I didn’t actually try most of them but that’s not the fault of the authors.
Even as quickly as Facebook changes there’s still so much relevant information in this book that it’s worth the $30.00 (U.S.) to have it around to refer to.
So that’s really my opinion on this one. Get it, read through it, use whatever strategies you can implement at your current level. Then if you’re not on Mari’s Facebook page, get on there and check her wall every day for up to the minute tips and info. She’s a gold mine of free info.
I’m not sure how much she charges for her full services, but I’m guessing it can’t be cheap, so I’ll take what I can get for now.

It‘s quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
